MY: LOOK Inspired by ............

I’ve said in previous posts that I’ve been feeling slightly uninspired lately, and have set myself a September style challenge to look at my wardrobe in a different way.  Well it’s been working, I just seem to not have been taking any pics. It’s hard to do them myself (I don’t have a tripod in Cape Town) and my hubby hates taking them so I leave them to weekends.  Anyway, this is what I wore for a trip to the cinema a few days ago.  This is totally something I would normally wear, so maybe not that inspired, but the conception of it came from reading an interview with Gillian Zinster, and loving her laid back California style.  In my head this outfit was going to be black shorts, this t-shirt with a denim shirt, but when I tried it on, I realised that my legs looked too pasty in the shorts, so swopped it for the skirt, and then the denim shirt was replaced by a denim jacket as it looked better, so even though the outcome is something I would have normally picked anyway, the thought process was different, thus, in my twisted head, being a tick in my style challenge! 

The only think that’s missing is a bowler hat, which I definitely would be wearing in the UK if I had my hat collection.  I love hats, and wear them quite a lot, but when we moved to Cape Town, I had to make a choice, and more clothes won.   I have my straw fedora with me, that’s it, and miss the drama hats give outfits.  Oh well, only 5 months and me and my hats will be reunited!

We have our 1^st visitors from the UK arriving tonight and I can’t wait to show them around the city that we’ve fallen in love with so much.  Plus, there’s lots of time for outfit pics!  Apologies that I look so grumpy in these pics, we were rushing to get to the cinema on time!
